We are! CBS is doing a great job of keeping everything under tight wraps for this one and it's really making us wonder just why? One might think that an "off-season" Big Brother might require a lot of buttering up of the audience to ensure worthwhile ratings, but I guess not! That writers strike is probably earning the networks a fortune what with Reality Television so popular.
Still, I am going to miss my favourite shows, and I hope for a quick resolution to the whole thing. Writers have to pay their mortgages and feed their kids too.
Meanwhile, if you have any new tidbits of information on BB9, be sure to let us know!

Hopes for Big Brother 9
What would you like to see on Big Brother 9?
I have found that the past couple of seasons have been just a little bit predictable. Maybe CBS should swap Jeff Probst and Julie Chen. How would that be? Can you imagine Julie Chen at Tribal Council? "I'll go tally the votes... BUT FIRST... Does anyone have the hidden immunity idol?" Really though, I don't think Julie's high heels and makeup would fair too well on an island in the south Pacific.
I'm hoping that CBS puts a bit more thought into this season with a few things we haven't seen before. New competitions, new power positions, and hopefully new personalities.

Houseguest "hoax"
Word was that Tony Westbrook of Benton, Arkansas will be among the housemates of the next season of the hit CBS reality show, Big Brother.
Without re-posting some of the not-so-nice things I read about Mr. Westbrook, it would suffice to say that he is someone who likes to pretend he's something or someone he's not on many occasions. What's more, revealing the intentions of CBS ahead of time would immediately get you released from consideration for Big Brother.
We're still waiting for any official news of house-guest choices.

BB9 finalists have been chosen
Robyn Kass, Casting Director Big Brother 9, has reported that finalists for the upcoming winter season of Big Brother have been chosen.
BB9 finalists....
Thanks, once again, to everyone who auditioned for BB9! We had a fantastic turn out and the decisions were tough.
This is to inform you that all BB9 finalists have been contacted already. If you did not receive a call remember.... just because you're not right for the mix this season doesn't mean you won't be right for the next season. Don't give up! Thanks for your support of the show!

Big Brother 9 rumors and ramblings
With Big Brother 9 only a couple months away, we're very curious about how the show will go in this different time of year. The likely reason for the time shift (we're guessing) is the writer's strike. Writers absolutely HATE reality shows. In fact, actors don't like reality shows much either. I mean think about it.... Take a handful of unknowns, and put them on primetime television every week. After a few weeks (if the show is any good), America suddenly knows their names. Take Denise from "Survivor" for example. She was a primary school lunch lady, and now everyone recognizes her. OK maybe it's short-lived celeb status, but it still takes jobs away from the "real" actors out there.
We already know Big Brother 9 will be aired 3 times per week. The LIVE show to be shown leading up to the not-so-impressive Jericho, which CBS is keeping on life support for some reason. We're also going to get another new season of Survivor in February. Am I the only one who feels spoiled by all this?
Here are my hopes for the new season:
- America's Player: No thanks. It was a little amusing having Eric as America's player on BB8, but nothing more than that. He wasn't very happy when he was chosen to do it, and I wouldn't be either. Besides, the whole house will be suspecting it anyway.
- Relatives and Exes: I hope they keep this one out too. The whole "expect the unexpected" where relationships are concerned has been played out I think.
- Celebs: I read somewhere that CBS may inject the house with 1 or 2 B-List type celebrities. I don't know if this will be good or not. I think it would depend on who the celebs are. Bringing back a few players from previous years might be a good idea.
- Eviction System: I'm hoping for an improved eviction system. In season 1, it was America's decision 100%. Since then it has been the house-guests only. I'd like to see something different again. Perhaps a combination of the two.
Post a comment, and give your thoughts on these or any other suggestions you'd like to see in the new season of Big Brother.

Big Brother is back! (and it's February!)
Big Brother 9 is coming your way! We were all very pleasantly surprised while watching the finale of "Survivor China" last night that our favourite summertime show will be back on the airwaves 5 months earlier than usual!
So far we don't know who the house-guests will be, or what type of format the show will take, but since it is a February launch this year, we're expecting BIG things from CBS and the moment we learn anything, you'll be able to find out about it right here!
